Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some common questions and answers.
What do I do with FLV files?
FLV is the file extention for Flash videos. Flash videos are used by video sharing web sites such as YouTube. An FLV file is what you get when you download videos from YouTube.
All you have to do is either get an FLV player, or convert it. For FLV players we recommend FLV Player 1.3.3, and VLC Media Player. If, however, you would not like to use an FLV player, you can convert the file to a common format such as MPG or AVI. Converting is quite simple, all you need to do is download Batch FLV Converter, which is powered by ffmpeg.

How do I use the rippers?
Simple, just put the URL of the video into the input box and press enter or the Get Video button. It will quicky grab the video for you, and display it in under a second.

Why would I want to rip videos?
Why not? Wouldn't you love to be able to watch your favorite videos on vacation, or somewhere without internet? Offline video watching is what the site is made for.

Why is the "YouTube All Vid Ripper" so slow?
Well, how the site works is it opens up the html file, searches for information in the file, and uses the information to generate a link. It can list the sites in a snap, but getting the required info takes half a second each. So, if you have an artist with 120 videos, it will take upwards of a minute.

How do I get the iFilm URL?
You don't. On the page that links to the video, right click on the link and get the link location on your clipboard. It should begin with "javascript:". This is the only ripper that doesn't use a URL.
